Windsor Chair in Walnut and Ash

Windsor chair with legs, spindles and joint detailing in Ash and seat and back rest in Walnut.  Based on a design by Japanese furniture designer George Nakshima who was himself an admirer of Hans Wegner this chair is a reworking of the traditional English Windsor chair.  Uncharacteristically of Windsor chairs, the back spindles are all parallel, as are the front legs.  This introduces a strong vertical element to the chair which creates a sense of formality.  The seat and back rest are Walnut and the legs, spindles and back rest detail are all ash.
